I’ve tried two other Vitamin C serums before this and unfortunately had to return both because my skin reacted badly — redness, stinging, and tiny breakouts almost immediately. So I was honestly nervous to try another one.But this Dr. Althea Vitamin C Boosting Serum completely surprised me in the best way.First of all, it’s very gentle. No burning, no itching, no tight feeling after application. It absorbs quickly and feels lightweight — not sticky or heavy. My skin can be sensitive, especially with active ingredients like Vitamin C, but this one has been non-iritating from day one.After a couple of weeks, I started noticing my skin looking brighter and more even. It gives that subtle glow without making my skin feel overwhelmed. I also love that it doesn’t pill under moisturizer or makeup.If you’ve struggled with Vitamin C serums causing reactions like I did, this one is definitely worth trying. It feels effective but still calming and skin-friendly. I’m really happy I gave Vitamin C one more chance with this product.

I’ve been using this serum for a few months now as part of my regular skincare routine. I have oily, hormonal-acne-prone skin and was drawn to this because of the vitamin C + tranexamic acid combo and the “K-beauty glow” promise.What I do like is how lightweight and comfortable it feels on the skin. It layers well under moisturizer and sunscreen and gives a subtle plumping effect that makes my skin look healthier and more refreshed, especially in the morning. It definitely has that Korean “skin boost” feel rather than an aggressive treatment.That said, the results are pretty gentle. I didn’t see dramatic brightening or acne changes, so if you’re expecting strong vitamin C correction or fast results, this might feel underwhelming. It works more as a daily maintenance serum than a heavy-hitting active.Overall, I think this is a nice option if you want a mild, easy-to-use vitamin C serum that gives a plump, hydrated look without irritation. I’m still on the fence about repurchasing, but it’s been pleasant to use and didn’t cause breakouts for me.

I’ve never written a product review before, but I felt like I had to share my experience with this one. This is by far the best vitamin C serum I’ve ever tried. My main goal was to make my freckles less noticeable, since I personally prefer a more even skin tone, and this serum has truly helped brighten my skin and even it out. My skin honestly hasn’t looked this good in a long time, and I’m pretty confident this product is a big reason why.That said, I’ve also been putting a lot of effort into my skincare overall like using face masks regularly and sticking to a solid routine, so I know other products have helped too. Still, the Dr. Althea Vitamin C Serum has easily become one of my favorite steps in my routine. 10/10, would definitely recommend!

I tried this product for a couple of weeks and really wanted to love it. I’ve used expensive to more affordable vitamin C serum/lotions. With Dr. Althea’s Vitamin C, my skin texture seemed amplified or possibly was having a slight reaction to it. I have sensitive skin but usually a small adjustment period and my skin adapts well. Had that been the only issue, I may have given it another week to see if things settled down but when applying a light skin tint I noticed a lot of peeling. This was the only product change to my routine so I can only attribute that to this product. If you’re not using it under make-up, I’d say for the reasonable cost, it’s worth a try. I’m using it on my chest now. For reference, I’m a 45 year old woman with sometimes sensitive skin and live in a warm climate.
